The European double girder gantry crane is a rail-mounted gantry crane featuring two box-type main girders, a compact European-style electric hoist trolley, and optimized end carriages. Compared with traditional double girder gantry cranes, the European gantry crane has lighter overall dead weight, lower wheel load, and lower headroom, providing a higher effective hook height. It uses variable frequency drives to achieve smoother lifting and braking.

Designed and manufactured in accordance with FEM/DIN standards. Inspected by ultrasonic testing (UT) or magnetic particle testing (MT) before delivery. Lightweight design provides a compact and rigid structure with low wheel load.

 

Legs

Material: Q355B/Q235B structural steel.

Available in A-type or U-type configuration. Connected to the main girder by high-strength bolts. Anti-corrosion treatment applied before delivery. The robust and stable structure extends outdoor service life.

Trolley

Usually a European winch trolley or European wire rope electric hoist trolley.

Connects the two legs and is fitted with the crane travel system at the bottom. Equipped with three-in-one geared motors and VFD control, reducing crane sway and extending service life.

To select a suitable European-type double-girder gantry crane, evaluate the following key parameters:

 

Step 1 - Determine the Actual Load

Use the maximum load you will lift - not the average load - and add the weight of the hook block, lifting beam, or other attachments. A reasonable margin avoids failure, but over-specifying only increases procurement and operating costs.

 

Step 2 - Determine Span and Lifting Height

Span is the distance between the two ground rails, and lifting height is the distance from the ground to the top of the hook when the hook is at its highest position.
