Product Introduction
The MH type single-girder gantry crane is a cost-effective, rail-mounted material handling crane capable of operating both indoors and outdoors.
It consists of a single main girder, a hoisting mechanism, legs, a bottom cross beam, a gantry travel mechanism, and electrical equipment.
Compared with double-girder gantry cranes, the single-girder gantry crane features a simple and compact structure, lighter self-weight, easy installation, and low procurement, operation and maintenance costs.
The MH type single-girder gantry crane is suitable for open storage yards, warehouses, workshops, construction sites, small ports and docks, providing a highly cost-effective lifting solution for small and medium-sized industrial applications.

Product Feature And Application
Features of MH type single girder gantry cranes
Simple Structure, Low Cost
Compared to double-girder gantry cranes, the single-girder design eliminates one main girder and a complex trolley travel system. This significantly reduces manufacturing, installation, and maintenance costs, making it an economical choice for light to medium lifting capacity requirements.
Light Weight, Low Wheel Load
Another advantage of the simple structure is the relatively light overall weight of the crane. This results in a lower wheel load pressure on the runway tracks, reducing the cost and specifications required for the foundation construction.
Easy Installation/Dismantling & High Mobility
They often feature a modular design, allowing for quick on-site assembly. Some light-duty models can be relocated as a whole unit or are designed to be easily disassembled, facilitating movement between different work sites.
Flexible Operation & Strong Adaptability
Multiple operation modes are available, including cabin control, remote control, and pendant control. Users can select the most suitable mode for their needs, enhancing operational efficiency and safety.
Large Working Space
The characteristic structure of the electric hoist single girder gantry crane creates a vast, unobstructed working area underneath it. This allows it to service an entire freight yard or loading platform, facilitating the loading and unloading of railway cars and trucks.
Applications of MH type single girder gantry cranes
Manufacturing Workshops: Raw material handling, finished product transfer, and assembly line support in machinery, metalworking, and light industry plants.
Outdoor Freight Yards: Loading/unloading of palletized goods, machinery components, and construction materials in logistics centers and railway freight stations.
Warehouses & Storage Facilities: Stacking and retrieval operations in open-air storage yards, especially where overhead crane installation is impractical.
Construction Sites: Lifting of steel bars, formwork, precast concrete elements, and construction equipment at building and infrastructure project sites.
Precast Concrete Plants: Handling of concrete beams, slabs, pipes, and prefabricated components between curing areas and loading zones.
Stone & Granite Processing: Transfer of stone blocks and finished slabs between processing machines and storage yards.
Small Port Terminals & Docks: General cargo handling at small harbors and inland waterway terminals.

|
Main Girder Available in two structural types - box type and truss type. The box-type main girder features a closed rectangular cross-section, offering excellent bending and torsional resistance. The truss-type main girder adopts a triangular lattice structure, providing lighter self-weight and lower wind resistance. |
|
|
Legs Connecting the main girder to the ground-running end carriages. They are divided into box-type and truss-type legs. Box-type legs provide superior overall rigidity and torsional strength, while truss-type legs are lighter in weight, have lower wind resistance, and are more cost-effective. By shape, the legs are further classified into A-type legs and L-type legs. |
|
|
Traveling Mechanism The crane travels along the ground rails via end carriages. The end carriages are equipped with integrated three-in-one drive units (motor + gearbox + brake), ensuring smooth starting and braking with minimal impact. The traveling speed is 20 m/min under ground (pendant) control, and can reach 30–45 m/min with cabin control. |
|
|
Lifting Mechanism The CD1 or MD1 electric wire rope hoist travels along the lower flange of the main girder. The CD1 hoist provides single-speed lifting, while the MD1 hoist features dual-speed operation (normal / slow speed) for precise load positioning. |

FAQ
Q: What information do I need to provide to get an accurate quotation for an MH single girder gantry crane?
A: To provide a precise quotation, please let us know: the rated lifting capacity, span, lifting height, cantilever length, working class (duty cycle), working environment (indoor/outdoor, temperature, corrosive conditions, etc.), and control mode.
Q: Can the crane be customized according to our site conditions?
A: Yes, we can adjust the span, lifting height, cantilever length, working class, speed parameters, and control mode according to your specific requirements. Special environmental designs such as explosion-proof, corrosion-resistant, and high-temperature versions are also available.
Q: What is the delivery time for a single girder gantry crane?
A: A standard MH gantry crane typically ships within 20–30 working days after order confirmation. Customized configurations take approximately 35–45 working days. The exact delivery time will be clearly confirmed in the quotation.
Q: Do you provide installation guidance?
A: Yes, we provide detailed installation manuals and video guidance. If required, we can dispatch engineers to your site for supervision and installation guidance services; the related costs will be quoted separately.
Q: How long is the warranty period?
A: We offer a 12-month comprehensive warranty on the complete machine starting from the date of commissioning acceptance. During the warranty period, any component failures caused by manufacturing defects will be replaced free of charge. After the warranty expires, we continue to provide lifetime technical support and the supply of original spare parts at competitive prices.
Q: Is the MH single girder gantry crane suitable for indoor use?
A: Yes, it can be installed indoors provided the building height is sufficient. For indoor applications with low headroom, we also offer semi-gantry and overhead crane solutions.
Q: Can the MH single girder gantry crane operate in strong wind conditions?
A: The MH gantry crane is designed to operate normally at wind speeds up to Beaufort scale 6 (12.5 m/s). For safety reasons, operation must cease when the wind speed exceeds this limit. In windy regions, a truss-type main girder is recommended for its better wind resistance. All gantry cranes are equipped with windproof anchoring devices for the parked state.
Q: What safety devices are included in the standard configuration of the single girder gantry crane?
A: The standard safety configuration includes: overload limiter, lifting height limit switch, trolley travel limit switch, crane travel limit switch, emergency stop button, buffers, overload alarm, and short circuit and overcurrent protection.
