Product Introduction
MG Double Girder Gantry Crane (Truss Type) is a rail-mounted gantry crane with a truss-structured main girder. The lifting trolley runs on the rails above the twin main girders. It can be operated via wireless remote control or from the driver's cab.
The truss main girder is fabricated from welded steel pipe or angle steel. Compared with box-type double-girder gantry cranes, it features lighter deadweight, lower wheel load, and reduced wind resistance, making it suitable for large spans, heavy capacities, and high-wind-load environments. It is widely used in precast concrete beam yards, ship block assembly, steel plate handling, tunnel segment storage, and heavy-duty processing workshops.

Product Details

Main girders
Two truss-type main girders that support trolley travel. They are lightweight, have high rigidity, and allow large spans.
Legs
Connect the main girders to the lower beams. Typically one side is a rigid leg and the other is a flexible leg to ensure overall stability.


Hoisting mechanism
Mounted on the trolley, consisting of an electric motor, reducer, drum, brake, wire rope, and lifting attachment. It is used to lift the load.
Gantry travel mechanism
Mounted on the lower beams, consisting of electric motors, reducers, wheels, etc. It drives the whole crane along ground rails.

To select a suitable truss-type double-girder gantry crane, evaluate the following key parameters:
Step 1 – Determine Lifting Capacity Requirements
Calculate the maximum weight of a single load (including lifting attachments)
Clarify whether an auxiliary hook is required for secondary lifting operations
Reserve tonnage allowance for future production capacity expansion
Standard tonnages: 20t, 32t, 50t, 80t, 100t, 160t.
Step 2 – Confirm Span and Lifting Height
Span: Measure the centre-to-centre distance between the two rails, ensuring adequate safety clearance on both sides from obstacles. Standard span ranges from 20 m to 60 m.
Lifting Height: The distance from the top surface of the rails to the maximum/minimum required hook position. This must account for hook safety clearance and the dimensions of lifting attachments.
Cantilever Extension: If additional lateral working coverage outside the legs is needed, specify the required cantilever extension length.
Step 3 – Specify Working Class and Travelling Speed
Match the ISO working class according to actual operating frequency:
A3: Light-duty, infrequent operation (warehouses and storage yards)
A4: Medium-duty, regular operation (general manufacturing)
A5: Heavy-duty, continuous daily operation (precast beam yards, construction sites)
Select speed configurations based on operational throughput and positioning accuracy requirements. Variable-frequency drive is recommended for applications requiring smooth and precise positioning.
